Statement on the duty to provide information – data protection notice

We take protecting your personal data very seriously. Therefore, we only process your data on the basis of the legal provisions (GDPR, the Data Protection Act).

This data protection notice is to inform you about key aspects of how we process your personal data that has been gathered from use of our website, social media profiles, mobile apps or other web applications. We also explain some of the precautions intended to ensure data transmitted remains confidential and protect your privacy.

This data protection policy applies to the website of Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG. We reserve the right to change this data protection policy without prior warning to bring it into line with changed legal situations or in the event of changes to our service offering or data processing. Changes take effect when published on our website. Individual pages may contain links to other providers within and outside Mason Privatbank Liechtenstein AG not covered by the data protection notice. We accept no liability for the contents thereof.

Contacting us

If you contact us using the form on the website or by email, the data you provide will be processed by us to deal with your inquiry and in the event of any follow-up questions. We collect, process and use personal data on our website in order to be able to provide you with even better products and services, to make our procedures even more client-focused and to ensure efficient access to product information and online banking applications.

Web analysis, targeting and cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files stored on your end device with the aid of the browser. They cause no harm and serve to make it easier for you to use the site and provide a more customised experience. Some cookies stay on your end device until you delete them. These allow us to identify your browser next time you visit. They include, for instance, cookies which are technically needed for our website to function or to provide a service or option you have requested, e.g. a cookie that notes your personal settings such as the language selected.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files which are stored on your computer and which make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information that the cookie generates about your use of this website (including your IP address) is normally transferred to and stored on a server operated by Google in the USA. If IP anonymisation has been activated on this website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on web activities and to perform other services associated with website and Internet use for the site operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be associated with other Google data.

You can prevent cookies from installing using the appropriate settings in your browser; we must warn you, however, that in this case, you may not be able to use all of the functions on this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from recording the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available on the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

For more details on terms of use and data protection, please see www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html. Please note that on this website the code ‘gat._anonymizeIp();’ has been added to Google Analytics so IP addresses are recorded anonymously (IP masking).

We also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from AdWords and the double-click cookie for statistical purposes. If you wish to prevent this, you can deactivate it in the settings manager (http://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=de).

Also, when visiting some of our pages, temporary cookies are saved on the hard drive of your PC or on your mobile device by targeting services; these are deleted automatically after a set period. These cookies contain a machine-generated alphanumeric code that cannot be traced back to you or the IP address of your computer. You can prevent the use of target cookies by setting your browser so no cookies are saved.

The above cookies are generally used to collect anonymised data which allows us to analyse the use of our website.

A cookie must be installed on your device to allow you to share content on our website over social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Once the function has been used, responsibility for further processing of the data lies with the company in question; please consult their policy for more information.

Managing cookies

As described above, cookies let you use the functionality of our website to the full. Where they are used for web analysis purposes etc. you will be explicitly asked to accept them before they are installed (opt-in).

Our website can also be viewed without cookies. However, if you block or deactivate cookies, the functionality of our website may be restricted. If you do not want to have any cookies, you can set your browser to tell you when they are set and only allow them on a case-by-case basis. You can also set your browser to deactivate cookies automatically. Please note that most browsers offer various options for protecting your privacy. You can normally find instructions for managing cookies on your browser under the browser help function or in the user guide to your smartphone.

Integration of third-party services and content and use of plug-ins

Sometimes, our website integrates content from third parties such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube videos, Google Maps and graphics from other websites (known as external embedded components or plug-ins/widgets). This always means that the provider of such content has to know the user’s IP address, as without the IP address, no content can be sent to the user’s browser. By clicking on the relevant icon, you consent to communication with the platform in question and the transmission of information to the respective service provider. We have no influence over the scope of the data collected by the social network with the aid of the button. As far as we are aware, integrating the plug-in only gives the social network the user’s IP address and the information that a user has accessed the relevant page of the offering (the URL of the website in question). Once the function has been used, responsibility for the further processing of the data lies with the company in question. Please consult the data protection policy of the service provider selected for more information on use of your data.

Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter via our website. For this, we need your email address and a statement from you that you agree to receive the newsletter. So we can provide you with targeted information, we also collect and process information provided voluntarily on areas of interest, birthday, place of residence, etc. Once you have subscribed to the newsletter, we send you an email confirmation with a link to confirm your registration.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Please contact the following email address: info(at)mason-privatbank.li – we will immediately delete your data related to sending the newsletter.

Data storage

Please note that when you visit our website, the website operator saves the IP details of the owner of the connection. In some circumstances, personal information such as the name and address of the person visiting the website are also saved (via a corresponding input template).

We collect, use and process personal data needed to honour agreements and as part of initiating business on the basis of your express consent, which may be given electronically (e.g. when requesting brochures). Consent once given may be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Personal data provided to us over the website is only stored until the purpose for which it was given to us has been fulfilled. Where an agreement is entered into, all data associated with the contractual relationship is saved until the statutory retention period has expired.

The information collected on this website is forwarded to the relevant unit within the bank when you enter it. Banking secrecy and data confidentiality apply. The data is not passed to third parties unless this is necessary, for instance to comply with requests for brochures (e.g. when brochures are distributed by a service provider). Personal data is only used for the purpose stated on the relevant page of our website on which you entered the data. Pages where we collect personal data are normally marked with the encryption icon installed in your browser. Thanks to the use of cutting-edge security software and certified coding and encryption procedures, our IT infrastructure meets international security standards. We have also taken further extensive security precautions and technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access or misuse based on state-of-the-art technology for Internet access to accounts and portfolios.

Despite the measures taken to protect your data, data protection and the confidentiality of data processing over universally accessible media may be limited. By virtue of their design, it cannot be ruled out that during use of the Internet as a means of transmission via a computer, mobile phone or device third parties gain access to your data and are able to draw inferences about business relationships or that personal data moves to third countries through no action on our part.

Please note that especially sensitive information and data, particularly personal data or account data, should only be sent through secure channels. Personal and business data is entered and/or transmitted as part of our website of other digital services in full knowledge of the risks involved, voluntarily, and waiving the relevant security.
